Jimmy yawned as he crawled through the vents of The Toasted Ghost, as was normal for him,  He had his camera in hand too.  If any good picture moments came up, he didn’t want to miss them.  Johnny, meanwhile, was sitting on the couch, going through the paper as he looked for open jobs.  The psychotic murderer poked his head out of the vents, seeing Johnny and smirked.  “HEY JOHNNY!!”  He shouted.

Johnny jumped a bit and sighed.  “Hey Jimmy.”  He sighed, glancing up a bit before returning his attention to the jobs.  Now, you may be wondering, why are they in two different bodies?  Aren’t Jimmy and Johnny the same person?  Yes, they are the same person, but due to some dimensional tear Jimmy had been separated from Johnny some time ago.  Also, Toast is out at Hawaii on vacation.

The killer jumped down from the vent, landing on the couch beside Johnny with ease.  “So, what’re you doing?”  He asked.

“Trying to find a job.”  Ghost responded simply, not looking at the person he would sometimes refer to as ‘brother’.

“Ugh, boring!!”  Jimmy sighed, laying his head back.  “I prefer my job.”

“Oh yeah, running from the cops and stabbing.”  Johnny sighed.  “I mean a PAYING job.”

“I also sell pictures of you and Toast.  That makes money.”  Jimmy chimed with a chuckle.  Johnny sighed and shook his head a bit, rolling his eyes.  This made Casket chuckle, grabbing the remote and turning the TV on.

Johnny stood and went to the kitchen to get something to eat.  “What’re you watching?”  He asked suddenly, a bit curious.

“The news.”  Jimmy chuckled, smiling.  It was a news report about him and his most recent kills.  “These cops are so stupid.  Or maybe I’m just too smart for them.”

“You’re going to get shot running from the cops one day.  Or thrown in jail for good.”  Johnny sighed, rubbing his head a bit.  He hated having to worry about Jimmy’s life for him.

“And soon after you will get killed by some ghost.”  He stated emotionlessly.

Johnny glanced over at him, pausing for a moment.  “…I’m fine as long as I have Toast.”

“Oh really?”  Jimmy questioned, standing and walking over.  “Shall I name some times I’ve saved you from certain death?”

“Go right ahead….” Ghost said as he looked through the cabinet.

“Well, there was the time in the prison, where I suffered the broken spine so you would get minimal damage done to you.”  Jimmy said, referring to the first time Jimmy ever met Toast.

“Yes I suppose I owe you for that one.” Johnny said, nodding slightly.

“AND there was the time when Maxwell tried to possess you to kill Toast, but he couldn’t because I was already in your head!”  He chuckled, smiling.

“Alright, I get it, you helped me a lot.”  Johnny said, sighing a bit.

“You bet!”  Jimmy chimed.

Johnny opened the fridge and sighed.  “Out of food again….great….looks like I’ve got to head out for a job now.”  He said, walking to his room and grabbing some ghost hunting gear.

“That means I’m gonna have to come with you, doesn’t it?”  Jimmy sighed, turning off the TV.

“It’s up to you Jimmy.” He responded, walking out the door, gear in hand.  The killer smiled and got up, following Ghost and locking the door behind him.  “Now we have to be carefully Jimmy, this is dangerous.”

“What level entity is it?”  He asked, humming a bit to himself as he walked.

“By reports, it can be from either and 8 to a 10.”  Ghost explained.  An eight was incredibly powerful on its own, capable of strange feats of horrible proportions.  A ten….well, that was more like Maxwell.  Incredible power, but rarely shows it.  They can hold grudges for all eternity.

“Hm…Sounds like fun!”  Jimmy chimes, not seeming to care how strong they may be.

“How does it sound like fun….in any way?”

“I run from cops.  I’m used to danger by now.  Danger for me is fun.”  Jimmy chuckles, smirking a bit.

“Yes, but this is a ghost.  And normally you can’t stab ghosts.”  Johnny stated.

Jimmy smiled and took out a knife, showing it to Ghost.  “This is a silver blade with salt forged into it.  It’s a nightmare for ghosts and demons alike.”  He chuckled proudly.

“Nice.”  Johnny responded, nodding a bit.  He then looks slightly.  “We’re here.”  He said, walking up to a house.

Jimmy nodded and put away his knife, putting his hood up as well.  He didn’t want to be recognized after all.  Johnny knocked on the door, readying what he would say.  But rather than someone opening the door, it opens on its own when Johnny knocks on it.  “I think that’s ghost for ‘Come in’.”  Jimmy stated.

“I could’ve sworn this was the right address…..”  Johnny said, looking at the paper with the address on it then the house.
The psycho rolled his eyes and impatiently walked into the room.  “Come on….”  He murmured.

“…..Or we can just walk on in….”  Johnny says, dropping the note to catch up with Jimmy quickly.

“Johnny, get out the ghost detecting stuff.  I don’t want to get jumped by a level 10.”  Jimmy murmured, looking around carefully.

Johnny takes out the gear, turning it on.  “Might be a little late for that….”  He says, pointing behind Jimmy.  The killer turns around quickly, looking behind him.  “It says it’s right behind yo-“  He started, but then vanished into thin air.

“Johnny?  Johnny!?”  The killer shouted, looking around quickly.  Suddenly there was a laugh as none other than Maxwell Acachalla appeared in the room.  “Maxwell?  What’re you doing here?”  Jimmy questioned.

“Looking for a little revenge is all.”  Maxwell said with a smirk.

“Where’s Johnny Ghost?”  Jimmy asked, looking at the ghostly cowboy.

“Oh, you shouldn’t be worried about that right now.”  Maxwell said, his tone murderous.

“Maxwell, we’ve worked together before.  You of all people should know not to mess with me.  I’m a master of scares.”  Jimmy chuckled, eyes seeming to glow red for a moment.  The lights flickered and it seemed that blood was dripping down from Jimmy’s eyes for a second before returning to normal.

Maxwell suddenly grabbed Jimmy, slamming him against the wall and holding him in place. “You don’t scare me Casket.”

“Oh really?  I should!”  Jimmy laughed, taking out his special knife and stabbing Maxwell in the gut quickly.

Maxwell stumbled back, holding where he had been stabbed and falling to the ground, coughing a bit.  Even as a ghost, he was bleeding due to Jimmy’s special knife.  “I told you Maxwell.  Now then, where’s Johnny?”

He chuckles.  “I’m not telling you.  I’m going to kill him to put you through what you put me through.”

Jimmy scowled and kicked Maxwell before stabbing him again.  “You’re making a mistake Maxwell.  You do NOT want me as an enemy.”  He growled.

“You sure ‘bout that?”  Maxwell chuckled, turning and pointing his ‘ghostly’ gun at Jimmy before firing at him.

“GAH!!”  Jimmy exclaimed.  He grabbed his now bleeding side and stepped in Maxwell’s hand quickly.  “I don’t even know why you’re so against me right now….”

“You didn’t let me kill that Brit before.  You went and stabbed me in the back….literally!”  Maxwell shouted.

“To be fair, if you had killed him Johnny would’ve been a sobbing mess…..and you broke my spine!!”

“Technically I was breaking Johnny’s spine.  Throwing him into the wall got him out of the way.”

“You could’ve killed me!”

“But I didn’t.”  Maxwell huffed, glancing to the side.

“But now you intend to kill Ghost and I can’t allow that.”  The killer chuckled, smirking a bit.

Maxwell looked up at Jimmy.  “Wait.  Think about it.  You could be free, with nobody bossing you around.  You could kill Ghost and be on your own.  We could work together, kill the Brit, and cause chaos.  Just like the good old days.”

“As intriguing as the offer is, I’ll have to say no.  Toast makes some nice tea, which is surprisingly good.”  Jimmy states.  “And Ghost is my cover.  If the cops are on my tail, I’ll need Ghost in control if they get a little too close.”

Maxwell scowls.  “You shouldn’t have done that old friend.  That was the wrong choice.”  He said.  Before Jimmy could question it, a bright light filled the room and, when it dispersed, Maxwell was gone.

Jimmy scowled.  “MAXWELL GET YOUR GHOSTLY BUTT BACK HERE!!”  He shouted.

There was suddenly a loud noise from upstairs, like a crash.  Jimmy quickly rand upstairs, looking around.  He saw that Ghost was unconscious on the floor with pieces of broken glass beside him.  The killer ran over to Johnny and, right at that moment, the paranormal investigator sat up and let out a loud scream.

Jimmy covered his ears and shouted.  “Johnny!!  STOP!!”

“What!?  Who!?  Where!?  How!?”  Ghost says before quickly fainting again.  Jimmy sighed and picked up Ghost, smiling a bit as he took him home.  Of course, the pressure hurt the bullet wound in his side severely, but he endured it for Johnny’s sake.

*Timeskip*

In the morning the next day, Ghost sat up in his bed from a….well, a VERY strange nightmare.  It seemed so real though.  The walking, the talking, even that bright light was so real…  “Jimmy?”  He asked, looking around.

“Yeah?”  Jimmy responded.  He was sitting in the corner, half asleep.  He wasn’t even able to make it to his own room.

“I have the weirdest dream, and you were in it….I sound really childish, huh?”  Johnny chuckled, smiling a bit.

“Did this dream have Maxwell, broken glass, and this knife?”  Jimmy asked, tossing the special knife onto the bed.  Johnny picked up the knife and stared at it, nodding slightly.

“So….What you’re telling me is….That dream REALLY happened?”  Ghost asked in shock.

“Yes….and I’d like to know what happened after you vanished.”  Jimmy said, looking at his ‘brother’.

“After I vanished….I was surrounded in a light and heard some muffled voices...Then I woke up here.  What about you?”  Johnny explained.

“Well, for me, Maxwell appeared…I stabbed him twice and he shot me.  He also offered me a deal which I declined.”

“Oh my god, are you okay?”  He asked, suddenly acting protective and worried about Jimmy.

“Yeah, I’m alright….just a little sore is all…”  He says, rubbing his side.  He moves his hand away and shows the dried blood on his hand and clothes.

“Did you put anything on it?”  Johnny asks in a somewhat parental manner.

“No….I put you in bed then passed out over here….guess I just couldn’t move much at that point.”  He chuckled.

“You sure you don’t want anything for it?”

“I’m fine Johnny.”  Jimmy chuckled.

“Alright…I just worry is all.”  He responded.

“I figured….come on, let’s go out and get some breakfast, alright?”  Jimmy says, carefully standing up.

Johnny sighs a bit as he gets up.  “Go ahead….say it….you were right.”

“Hm, what?  You mean about the fact you need me?”  Jimmy chuckled, smirking a bit.

Ghost smiled and nudged Jimmy’s good side with his elbow.  “Yeah.”

Jimmy smiles.  “Well then, I told ya so.  Now, let’s go get something to eat.  I’m starving!”

“Hm….alright….does the Waffle House sound good?”  He asks, getting his jacket.

“Yeah, it does.  Let me know if you run into Sally.”  Jimmy chuckles, tossing Johnny his phone.  “Call if there is any trouble though.”

“You’re my only trouble.”  Johnny chuckles, walking out of the house and closing the door behind him.

Jimmy chuckles a bit and walks to the couch.  He turns on the TV, meanwhile lifting his shirt a bit and checking the bullet wound.

*40 minutes later*

Johnny opens the door and walks inside with a plastic to-go box.  “I brought brunch!”  He says.  He then suddenly throws a role of bandages to Jimmy.  “Use them unless you actually WANT to die young.”

Jimmy smiles, putting the bandages in his pocket.  “Thanks.  Now then, on to the serious business of food!”  He chimes, walking over.

Johnny hands him a box of food.  “Eat it slowly and it’ll last longer.”  He reminds him.

“Alright ‘mom’.”  Jimmy said in a mocking way, rolling his eyes before starting to eat.

“Oh look news reporters, this is your new story.  ‘The World’s Most Renowned Murderer had a Heart.’”  Johnny laughs as he walks away.

Jimmy scowled.  “Oh, shut up Johnny.  I still am used to threatening you on a regular basis!”  He laughed, smiling.

“I wonder if you ever fell in love with someone, eh?”  He said between laughs.

Jimmy scowled and threw a knife at Johnny, hitting the wall directly in front of his face.  “You wanna try saying that again!?  I need aiming practice!”  Jimmy said, smirking a bit and laughing.

“I bet it’s the female cop that was chasing you last week!”  Johnny said, laughing as he went into his room to sort out some mail from yesterday and today.

Jimmy scowled and threw another knife, hitting the door of the room.  “SHUT UP!!”

The paranormal investigator carefully closes the door.  “Even I was in love once….”  He sighs as he looks through the mail.  Jimmy sits down on the couch again, watching TV while eating.  The one who was actually working puts the job notes in a box.  “Any news stories about recent killings?”  He asks from his room.

“Some guy called Jeff the Killer, and another guy in Britain called Jack the Ripper, but that’s about it.”  Jimmy responded.

“So you haven’t been on a killing streak yet, have you?”  He asks, opening the door.

“No, I haven’t….Why?”  Jimmy asks, glancing over.

“No reason.”  He said simply.

“Alright then….”  Jimmy said.  “You feeling alright Johnny?”  He asked, curious.  He was a bit nervous about what Maxwell may be planning.

“Yeah, I’m fine.”  He said, his voice sounding a bit higher pitched than before, but only slightly.

Jimmy sat up and looked over at him.  “Then get your butt over here and watch some TV with me.”  He said.

“Alright…”  He chuckles as he walks toward Jimmy, but halfway he faints, falling backwards.

“Johnny!?”  Jimmy shouts, quickly standing and going over to Ghost.

Johnny’s eyes now had a red-ish glow to them.  “I’m fine, really….”  He says, going in and out of consciousness.

“What the….Maxwell definitely did something to you….” Jimmy said, trying to help Johnny up.

“What do you mean?  I’m fine, just normal, nothing out of the ordinary.”  He says.

“Your eyes are starting to glow RED!  That’s not normal when we have separate bodies!”  Jimmy exclaims, carrying him to his room.

“I’m really fine Jimmy….”

Jimmy sets him in bed.  “You’re not fine Johnny!”  He says, looking at him to see if the red had gone away.  But it was still there.

Suddenly, Johnny shouts.  “Jimmy, get away from me!”

Jimmy jumps a bit, backing up slightly.  “Johnny…?”

“I don’t want to hurt you Jimmy….”  He said softly.  The killer watched, scared for Johnny’s sake.  “I’m….sorry….Jimmy….”  He says as he falls to his pillow.

“J-Johnny…..?  Johnny?”  Jimmy asks, getting a bit closer.

Ghost’s eyes suddenly open, but now they are fully red.  “Hello, JIMMY!!”  He says as he swipes at him.

He jumps back quickly.  “What the?!”

“You shouldn’t have don’t that old FRIEND!!”  He laughs.

“You….Maxwell….MAXWELL!!!”  Jimmy growled, grabbing him by the throat and pushing him against the wall.

“Wouldn’t hurt me if I were you.  You wouldn’t want to kill your friend after all.”  He laughs, smirking.

Jimmy scowls and releases his throat.  “What do you want Maxwell….?”

“Oh, I want nothing of you Jimmy Casket.  After all, it’s not like I crave REVENGE after you stabbed me or anything….and turned down my generous offer.”  He said sarcastically.

Jimmy scowls slightly.  “Leave the Johnnys out of this and I’ll do whatever you want.”

“I’m afraid there shall be none of that.  This is what you will do.  When Toast gets home and everything is happy and healthy, I want you to murder Ghost in cold blood.  But leave Toast, I want to see him sob.”  He laughs.

Jimmy’s eyes widen and he shakes his head quickly.  “No!  I said leave them out of it!  Take out your revenge on me, not them!  Shoot me, stab me, whip me, anything!”  He said quickly.

“You’ve been given your orders Casket.  Lighten up, you’re bound to get some good head-liners for sure!”  He laughs loudly.  He then faints on the bed again.

Jimmy holds his head tightly, shaking.  “N….no…no…”  He murmurs.

Johnny sits back up, eyes back to their normal green shade.  “Jimmy…what’s wrong?”  He asks.  “You look scared.”

Jimmy shakes his head quickly, grabbing his knife from his pocket.  He then smiles a bit.  “Stab stab stab….”  He murmurs under his breath.

“Jimmy…..you’re scaring me…”  He says, nervous.

Jimmy smiles a bit and leans against a wall, sliding down so that he was sitting.  He then takes his knife, turning it around before quickly stabbing himself.

“Jimmy!”  Johnny yells, quickly scrambling to him.

Jimmy keeps stabbing himself, laughing like a maniac, but with tears dripping down his face.

“JIMMY!”  Johnny shouts, reaching and grabbing the bloody knife away from him.  Though he got the knife away, Jimmy had already managed to stab himself multiple times.  Each was close to, but not hitting a vital organ.

Johnny quickly carries Jimmy to the kitchen, looking around for the medical supplies Jimmy would use to treat some of his other injuries.  He quickly washes off most of the blood and wraps his chest in bandages, covering the wounds.  He sheds a single tear while he does so.

Jimmy, who had been silent during the whole thing, finally spoke up.  “Why…?”  He asked quietly.

“Because I….I love you like a brother….”  He says under his breath.

“Same here….”  Jimmy says.  “That’s why I was doing that….”

“Why would you kill yourself?  What happened to the heartless Jimmy I know?”  He asked.

Jimmy chuckled a bit, but weakly.  “Eh….I wish I was still that Jimmy right now…”  He sighs.  “That would make everything easier.”

“You can still be that Jimmy.  We can fight, threaten to kill each other….I wouldn’t even care if you killed me.  All I want is for you to live.”

Jimmy’s eyes widened again and he shook his head.  “No!  Don’t say that!  I don’t want you to die!!”

“What?  You worried it’ll create a paradox and suck all the fish from the world so we can’t have sushi?  C’mon….everyone already has their life planned out for them.  You may think you can change it, but it’s not an option….”  He sighs.

Jimmy shakes his head and carefully stands up, despite the pain.  He then hugs Johnny tightly.  “I don’t want to kill you….”  He says softly, tears dripping down his face.

“I love you Jimmy….”  Ghost says, hugging the killer gently.

“Love you too Johnny….”  He says, sobbing softly.

*In Ghost’s head*

Maxwell stood in Johnny’s head, rolling his eyes slightly.  “Oh, what a bunch of sappy people….Jimmy’s lost his edge.”  He sighed, watching closely.

*Back to the real world*

Jimmy continued standing, hugging Ghost for a time, but soon his strength failed him and he collapsed from blood loss.  “Jimmy!”  Johnny says, catching him quickly.

The psycho groaned a bit.  “I think….I need to rest now…”  He said.

Johnny carries Jimmy to his bed and lays him down.  “Sleep well…”  He says softly.

“Thanks Johnny…”  He says sleepily, smiling a bit as he passes out.

“You’re welcome….”  Johnny says as he leaves the room quietly, letting Casket sleep.
