It was a shockingly cool day in Ohio, not much disturbing the time of peace.  After all, love was in the air, as it was February 14th, also known as Valentine’s Day.  The year was 1969, and everyone was feeling the love today.  At least, most everyone was.  Unfortunately, not the woman who drove along the road in her black, 1967 Chevy Impala, listening to The Beatles as she went.

She hummed along to the song, keeping her eyes on the road as she sat along in her car.  She could hear some of her ‘tools’ moving around in the trunk due to the bumpy road.  These ‘tools’ were weapons.  Knives, guns, and others one would consider deadly, like Holy Water.  You see, she didn’t have an average job, nor was she a house wife.  She was a Hunter, a person within a special group whom all devote their lives to hunting supernatural creatures, and protecting mortals from them.

The job didn’t really pay anything since nobody really believed in vampires and the like, and it meant that you would always be travelling from place to place on those jobs, but the woman enjoyed it.  That’s all that really mattered to her, the fact that she enjoyed the idea and act of saving people from these monsters and demons.  This specific Hunter’s name was Julia Raiz.

She sighed slightly as she glanced at the map in the passenger seat, turning down a different road.  She brushed a piece of short brown hair out of her face before looking to the empty road again.  Her hair was done up nicely, with short bangs in the front and longer hair going to just above her shoulders, curling out at the ends in the back.  She was wearing a long-sleeved beige dress, which hugged her snugly and ended off just below her knees.  Both the hair and clothing were fitting for the time, so she was able to easily blend in.

As Julia drove, she felt as though she were being watched.  Glancing in the rearview mirror, she jumped at the sight of someone all too familiar in the back seat of her Impala.  To avoid swerving and possibly crashing, she quickly pulled to the side of the road, parked, and turned with a glare to face the man.  “Gabriel!”  She shouted.

The man smiled at her smugly, leaning back in the seat as he ran one hand through his dirty blonde hair.  “The one and only, the trickster archangel from above.”  He chimes, moving one hand as if it were a mock bow.

“I told you not to pop in when I’m driving!”  Julia hisses, genuinely annoyed with the man.  Gabriel did this quite often actually, and she showed no signs of planning to stop.  After all, he was a Trickster, pranks were practically his job.  Sure, he still cared about Julia and her safety.  After all, he was both an archangel and her self-appointed guardian.  You can imagine her surprise when he told her this, huh?  He wouldn’t actually let her crash, he would save her.

“Sorry sweetheart.”  He chuckles, leaning forward and handing her a small bag filled with wrapped up pieces of taffy, Julia’s favorite candy.  Tricksters always ate candy, they needed it.  Being a Trickster and an archangel, he didn’t need it, but he liked it and would crave it sometimes.  Since he liked it, he always carried plenty on hand.  “This make up for it?”

Julia paused before grumbling something under her breath and taking the bag, pulling out and unwrapping one piece.  “Fine, you’re off the hook THIS time.  Next time it’ll take more than some taffy to forgive you.”  She says as she pops the candy into her mouth before pulling back onto the road and continuing to drive.

Gabriel couldn’t stop smiling as he leaned back once more.  Then, the radio caught his attention.  “Hey, turn up the music, I think this song fits you.”  He chuckles, waving his hand as bit.  The volume then goes up, the song ‘Devil in her Heart’ playing.  He began to sing along to it, making Julian roll her eyes.  However, she couldn’t help but laugh at the Trickster’s antics and sing along with the archangel as she drove them to their next job in Ohio.

After the song ended, Gabe remembered something, smiling a bit.  “Oh and….happy Valentine’s Day Julia.”  He says, snapping his fingers.  A large bouquet of flowers appeared in the passenger seat, making the Hunter blush faintly.

She didn’t speak up for another song, but then proceeded to respond by saying, “Thanks Gabe…I’ll repay you when we get to the town, hm?”  Julia chimes, winking at him.  The archangel could barely stay still in his seat for the rest of the ride from excitement.
Here we are.  The last one for now.  Alright, this is Supernatural based, also based in the 1960s, as that was the assignment.  Write about something, anything, in a different decade.  So...Impala, Hunter, Gabriel.
